Shirley's students

This is one of the 8 classes I have. Each has about 50 students.

Students Ready to Learn
Our students are so cool! They come to class at least 10 minutes before the bell rings and have all their work ready. The monitors are wonderful. You only need to make a copy of your handout and they go off to the copy machine, pay for it with the student fees and it’s done. I’m spoiled.
I prepared PowerPoint presentations for my students each week. Last week, we did some introduction games and shared expectations from both teachers and students. We were able to establish some important goals. I taught them to be positive about learning to speak English. I asked them: How’s your English? They all said: My English is very poor. I told them, no, no, no…to be positive, you should say: I love to speak English. I’m working very hard to improve my English. They recited it back to me several times, and loved it. I also ask them to “G’me T”, read English, write English, speak English, listen to English and think in English. I know we’ll have fun learning to speak English.
