HAPPY SUNDAY
Today is really a happy day. My classmates and I are all lucky dogs because we all have an opportunity to go to Professor Davis’ home. To be honest, I enjoy the happy time and I really gain a lot, including an English name, delicious food and other important things. In the past, my English teacher has told me that foreigners will keep the table and the floor clean when they have a party. Frankly speaking, I thought my teacher was dreaming. However, today I know firmly that I was wrong before. During the party, my professor’s wife kept on collecting the wastes and put them into a big black plastic bag. Perhaps, that’s a good way to educate us and make us consciously keep the room clean. I really admire this good habit. In short, my professor let me know that whenever you want to drink or eat, you can do it on one condition that you can deal with the waste.
During the party, we talked about our jobs and our future. Just before I went to college, my teacher told me try my best to go to big cities and enjoy better life. This is the first time I know I can have two choices, as Professor Davis said – a small fish in a big pond or a big fish in a small pond. In the past, with the help of my teacher, I only had one choice which Chinese version is “滕做风尾, 不做鸡头“ (rather be the tail wind, not the chicken head). Doubtless, there will be enough jobs if I don’t focus on big cities. Gradually, I will change my thoughts that based on the Chinese sentence I mentioned before.
In addition, the spirit of struggle (fighting for our rights) is another important thing I gained. In general, Chinese people are obedient. For example, we are not satisfied with our dining hall, but we do nothing but tolerate it. Just after the party, I met a problem. A company had promised to sponsor 300 yuan for a lecture, but after the lecture they said they were not satisfied with the number of audiences, so they don’t want to give us the money they have promised. At that time, I knew it was my turn to struggle for our students benefits, according to the contract. At last, after much struggling, I was the winner and I am proud of myself.
I should say “thank you” sincerely to my professor as I gain so much. At the same time, I begin to expect the next party.
Note: We named her after our Cami and called her charming Cami.
